Lion Proposal in Wizard of Oz Panto

The cowardly Lion turned into prince charming for a surprise on-stage proposal at the end of Wednesday’s night pantomime at Hailsham Pavilion. Dave Williams, who is playing Lion in ‘The Wizard of Oz Pantomime’ was relieved to hear ‘oh yes I will’ after getting down on one knee on stage, to propose to real life girlfriend Pamela Abell. Mr Williams had kept quite about the proposal and only a few committee members and Pavilion staff knew about his secret plans. Douglas Morgan, Chairman of Hailsham Theatres, said: “I am delighted for the pair of them, they are a wonderful couple. “On behalf of everyone at Hailsham Theatres I would like to wish Dave and Pam all the best for a happy life together.”
